Lake Hawea View offers a unique and spectacular location to host the ultimate event. Whether it’s a birthday, wedding, corporate event or a family get together, we have all the available contacts and resources to help you to create your dream event or celebration!

Situated on 25 acres of land and located high above the shores of Lake Hawea this awe-inspiring home purveys some of the most majestic lake and mountain views within the region. Overlooking Lake Hawea and its surrounding southern alps will be a unique experience for your intimate garden event.

This accommodation is perfect for the event preparation on the day and can accommodate up to 12 guests which will allows you to enjoy some quality time with your family and friends.

We offer to 2 event size options; An Intimate Event (up to 32 guests) or a Grand Affair (up to 80 guests). See below for more info

Intimate event

An intimate event allows you to host up to 32 guests or less and includes the following:

A Grand Affair

A grand event allows you to host up to 80 guests and includes the following:

  • Full use of the grand affair supplies
  • Cleaning fee

When you host a grand affair event it is required that an external marquee or tent is rented and constructed in the outdoor area.

Recommendations of event suppliers

We’ve put together a list of some amazing event/ wedding suppliers from the area of Wanaka who can provide everything from furniture to flowers to tipis.

Terms & Conditions

  • Maximum number of overnight guests is 12. Maximum number of events guest is 80 people
  • We have a no smoking rule both inside and outside  the property. There is a high fire danger in and around the area
  • Any furniture moved from its original position needs to be returned to its position before check out.
  • Any used kitchen appliances or glassware needs to be cleaned and storage back in the boxes or original place
  • If you have more than 32 guests (including those staying at the property) attending the event we require you to organise commercial transport to and from the property using a bus or multiple mini-vans. There is not enough parking for more than 32 guests and the road is composed of loose gravel and relatively steep. This is the safest option for you, your event guests and for us terms & conditions.
  • When booking Lake Hawea View as an accommodation or for an event over the period of May-October we require all guests to use a 4WD-vehicle to drive up to the property due to unexpected snowy or icy conditions on the gravel road leading up to the property
  • All event rubbish/non recyclables must be taken away from the property before check out. It is a requirement that you sort your own recycling in the three large available bins (glass/plastic/cardboard). We will take care of the removable of all recyclable items. If the amount of recycling is over and above what can be contained in the bins provided, it is up to you to clear the excess from the property prior to check out. For removal of all event rubbish we recommend using Wanaka Wastebusters
  • A third party supplier is required to be responsible for the noise cut off at 11 PM and should stay on site until all the guests have left.
  • A complete terms & conditions can be requested upon booking. Once a booking is confirmed a terms & conditions contract will be send out which needs  to be signed between the two parties.
  • A week prior to the event a $2000 NZD deposit will be requested to the guests which will be refunded within 7 days after the booking if the property and it’s amenities are all in original state. Any rules regarding damage made will be outlined in the terms & conditions form which will be signed.
  • We have a noise cut off of 11 PM for all events and we require an official third party to attend the event, that can act as our safeguard and ensure the above terms and conditions are adhered to. The third party needs to make contact with us prior to the event and communicate once the event has finished on the day or evening of the event.
